Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Lisa Penner and her family moved to Fort McMurray in September 2006. Lisa is a trained American Sign Language-English interpreter and a Birth Doula. In 2005 Lisa welcomed her first daughter into the world in a hospital in Winnipeg; from this point Lisa began a new journey as a mother. In 2007 her family grew as they welcomed their second daughter into the world at home in Fort McMurray. Having experienced childbirth in two different settings Lisa has become a strong advocate for informed choice as woman experience the wonders of pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding.
